This unit was about the basic structure and function of tissues. The main themes, other than the structure and function of tissues, were anatomical positions, macromolecules, and simple concepts of anatomy and physiology.
I learned all of the anatomical positions (anterior, posterior, inferior, proximal, distal, etc). I also learned the difference between anatomy and physiology. Anatomy being structure and Physiology being function. Finally I got a in-depth understanding of different tissues. I learned about the functions, locations, and structure of muscle, epithelial, connective, and nervous tissues.
I didn't fully understand the difference in structure between the tissues. I knew have to differentiate, but identifying them in a picture was a whole other story. Next unit I'll come into see Mr. Orre after class to make sure I understand how to identify it.
I learned about a lot of this stuff in sports med. Especially anatomical positions, but tissues we only went over briefly.
